Your questions, answered.
Is pressure washing included with exterior painting?
Cleaning required for the agreed painting preparation is set out in your quote. The method depends on the surface and condition; high pressure is not right for every material. We explain how the area will be cleaned and readied for the chosen coating.
Can I book cleaning without painting?
Send us the surfaces and photos you would like cleaned. We will confirm whether a standalone cleaning project is available for that scope and provide an estimate. This lets you get a clear answer before assuming that every exterior material is part of the service.
Will pressure washing damage my deck or siding?
Too much pressure or the wrong technique can damage surfaces. We choose the cleaning approach for the material and its condition, and identify loose coatings or weak areas first. Some projects need a gentler method rather than high-pressure washing.
Will every stain disappear?
Not necessarily. Surface dirt and some staining can improve with cleaning, while deep discolouration, weathering or damaged coatings may remain. We discuss what cleaning is likely to achieve and whether painting, staining or another treatment would be needed for the appearance you want.
Can the surface be painted immediately after washing?
It needs to dry and meet the coating’s application requirements first. Weather, material and the amount of moisture affect that timing. We plan washing and finishing as separate stages so paint or stain is not applied over a surface that is still too damp.
What should I prepare before cleaning starts?
We agree on access, water supply and protection for nearby belongings. Let us know about open joints, leaks, delicate planting and any fragile fixtures. Furniture and planters should be moved as arranged, and windows and doors near the work need to be closed.
