Your questions, answered.
Can you repair chipped baseboards before painting?
Suitable small chips, dents and gaps can be included with preparation and painting. We review the depth and condition of the damage first. If the piece is split, loose or missing, it may need replacement instead of filler, which we discuss before confirming the work.
Can you replace a short damaged section of trim?
We can assess a small replacement as part of your painting project. Matching the profile, material and dimensions matters, and availability can affect the result. Send a wider photo and a close-up so we can confirm the repair scope and who supplies the replacement piece.
Will the repaired area match the rest?
We aim to bring the shape and painted finish together. A replacement profile may not be identical to older trim, and a small paint touch-up can show against an aged finish. We explain the likely result and whether repainting the whole length would look more consistent.
Can you repair rotten or swollen wood?
Unsound material needs more than a cosmetic fill. Moisture damage or rot may require replacement and the source of the problem must be addressed. We identify what falls within minor preparation and what needs a carpenter or another trade before painting.
Is this a general carpentry or renovation service?
This page covers minor interior trim work associated with painting. Structural repairs, custom built-ins and major carpentry need a separate specialist scope. Tell us what you have in mind and we will be clear about which parts of the work we can include.
Can the repair and painting be quoted together?
Yes. Share the damaged areas along with the rooms or trim you want painted. We list the accepted repairs, materials and finishing in the quote, including any tasks that must be completed separately first. You can review the full plan before agreeing to proceed.
